Shera McAloran (the owner of Karri Kitchen’s) father is Indonesian & her mother is Chinese Indonesian. Her cooking has always embraced both the Chinese & the Indonesian flavours, tastes & colours to make her dishes as authentic yet as unique as possible. Indonesian food generally tends to be very sweet & Chinese food is very fresh – both of these tastes go well together when you add both elements to a dish. Shera has already won a number of awards since her ready made meals hit the market in Northern Ireland; a testament to how well the meals are crafted. The Firecracker Chicken is a very tasty dish & isn’t that spicy or overpowering. It uses a sweet Sriracha sauce which gives an overall much softer sweet & spicy flavour.
